Revenge of the Nerds: Winners Announced for the S.F. Web Awards

SF Weekly
April 06, 2010

We obviously could use some help understanding this whole Internet thing. So we asked our readers and a team of judges who have spent way longer in the field than we have to find the best online resources for S.F. (and because this is the Internet, parts of the Bay Area). We stayed up many many nights tallying, e-mailing, and discovering. And to celebrate, SFWeekly.com is hosting the S.F. Web Awards 2010.

We brought in a bunch of people from our online community -- including Laughing Squid’s Scott Beale, Tech Blogger Robert Scoble, Digg’s Aubrey Sabala, SF Appeal’s Eve Batey, Twitter’s Robin Sloan, Sfgate’s Max Garrone, SFist’s Brock Keeling, MTV’s Maya Baratz, Sweet Melissa’s Melissa Griffin, Mission Mission’s Allan Hough, Uptown Almanac’s Kevin Montgomery, StyleSeat’s Melody McCloskey, and VVM new media staff -- and made them comb through the nominees and suggest their favorites (hey, Dr. Jang scares the shit out of us too). And to keep it fair, none of the judges voted in a category they’re affiliated with. Check out the winners below and check here for more info on how to attend our Web Awards Party between 5-9 p.m at 111 Minna tonight.
