Janet is a seasoned administrative professional and natural care giver.  A native Chicagoan, her varied experience at companies such as McKinsey & Company, Chicago Tribune, CBS Radio, Bonneville International, Playboy, and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange provide the background needed to support our fast-paced office and faster-paced clients.

Janet prides herself on her resourcefulness in providing creative solutions to the most unusual challenges (ask her about the time she loaded a prominent attorney's office with bales of hay at the request of a well-known consultant - her boss, his brother-in-law!).  Her ability to juggle a flaming torch, a watermelon, and an axe while maintaining an irreverent sense of humor ensure that our office is well organized and our clients are well served.

Through kiva.org, all Barbary Coast employees make interest-free microloans to people in need around the world.  Janet's Kiva partner is Afissétou Issifou, a married mother of four from Agoe, Togo. To help support her family, she established a business selling kerosene (when she started her business in 1997, most people in her district used only lamp oil) and sacks of rice. Afissetou will be using her funds to purchase more kerosene and rice to better serve the customers in her small district, and help support her growing children.
