Ritz Carlton Residences

For the past two years, Barbary Coast has worked closely with the Ritz Carlton on their historic rehabilitation and development of 690 Market Street in San Francisco.  Originally built in 1890, the former Chronicle building was the first "skyscraper" built west of the Mississippi.   Barbary Coast guided the Ritz Carlton through a complex approvals process at City Hall for its successful Mills Act application, allowing the project to receive a significant reduction in property taxes in exchange for the restoration and long term maintenance of an important city landmark.  690 Market Street is the largest project in San Francisco to ever receive a Mills Act tax credit.  At present, Barbary Coast continues to assist the Ritz Carlton with government affairs strategy as it related to 690 Market Street.
