Welcome to the LinkedIn Public Relations and Communications Professionals Group.  Thank you for joining. 

This group was kicked off by Barbary Coast Consulting, a Bay Area firm specializing in government relations and strategic communications.  While many of the group’s current members are colleagues of ours from the Bay Area, we also have group members from all over the country, including a strong presence in Ohio.  Please feel free to inform your colleagues in the communications industry from around the country - and the world! - about this group.

At Barbary Coast, we've found linkedin to be a valuable and powerful networking tool.  We have used it to identify new clients and new vendors, and to help identify new colleagues.  We believe that the connections we make in this new group have great potential for all of us to find opportunities to work together.

We created this group to provide people in the industry an opportunity to network with and also learn from each other.  We hope that you find value in this group and that it grows to be an interesting and instructive resource for you. At this time, this page is simply here to let you know why the group was created (and, hopefully, to encourage you to poke around the barcoast.com website), but in the future, perhaps it will be used to bat around ideas, seek advice, discuss new trends in the industry or even vent about clients. (Diplomatically, of course.)

As we grow this group and this site, we want to hear from you about what sort of content you would like to see included here.  If you’ve got an item to discuss or an article you found informative for us to post, we want to hear from you.
