Community

Responsible businesses contribute to community organizations where they do business. Period. We take this responsibility seriously, and we work to set a good example for our clients, our potential clients, our competition, and our community.

Alexis Smith sits on the Board of Directors of Mission Learning Center, a community-based organization that has provided literacy education and training programs to children and their families since 1972.  She is also an Officer of the San Francisco Young Democrats, an organization of students, activists, and young professionals under the age of 35 seeking to promote and advance the ideals of the Democratic Party.

Jaime Rossi is on the Board of the Youth Guidance Center Improvement Committee, the employment and training arm of the San Francisco Juvenile Probation Department.  The organization works closely with youth who are engaged with the juvenile justice and foster care systems.  He has also volunteered with the Mayor's Project Homeless Connect, the American Indian Child Resource Center, Beacon Schools, and the Mission Cultural Center.

Alex Clemens serves on the boards of the Coro Center for Civic Leadership and Urban Ecology.

Barbary Coast Consulting has also done pro bono work for the City and County of San Francisco. We helped develop and manage the City’s premier economic development resource, www.SFProspector.com. Prospector, a GIS powered interactive website, promotes the competitive advantages of locating a business in San Francisco by interfacing commercial property listings with data on workforce demographics, consumer expenditures, transit maps, and business and tax incentive information.

The San Francisco Bay Area is home to many, many excellent organizations that serve their community. Here are some of those organizations to which Barbary Coast Consulting has recently contributed:
