Back in the late 1800s, the San Francisco Bay Area was known as the Barbary Coast. Epitomizing the Wild West, the Barbary Coast was a place where the unexpected was commonplace, and adventure was the order of the day. If you were new to the area, you ran the risk of winding up in debt, in jail, or in the hull of a freighter bound for Asia.
Not much has changed. Though kidnapping and involuntary servitude aren't as popular around here any longer, the unexpected is still commonplace. Companies, organizations, and non-profits doing business in the Bay Area frequently find themselves the unwitting victims of crossfire from complex, decades-old political feuds at City Hall, delays caused by Byzantine planning processes, and sudden community opposition from unexpected quarters.
As you set out to achieve your goals, Barbary Coast Consulting can help you succeed. We can help you learn the lay of the land, build alliances with friends, educate potential enemies, develop relationships with City Hall decision-makers, navigate the oft-conflicting demands of community organizations, and manage the demands of the media. We have deep experience working inside and outside government, working with and within community organizations, performing research and investigations, and working with Bay Area media. We've delivered results for the folks who are quoted on our homepage - how can we help you?
CONGRATULATIONS, JAIME!
